Water Sanitation Fundraising Project Update
Written by PGS Admin
15th November 2020

We've hit the target!

PGS got us off to a good start with a pledge of 50% of the target. Our customers and staff then very generously donated the remaining 50% to get us up to beyond £4,600 which is the amount required to carry out a clean water project in Zambia.

We're very happy to anounce that the funds we've raised will be allocated to Limbwa Village in Western Province, Zambia and will be used to build a well to provide clean water to the people of the village.

There are 169 people living there and the current waterpoint is an unprotected scoop hole which means unsafe water that is full of dirt and which is also used by animals.

In the village there is only one household with a latrine and no handwashing facilities at all. Eye infections and diarrhoea are common.

The pictures on this post show the current water hole that's used by the village.

We're so pleased to be able to help Village Water make such a significant difference in Limbwa. We hope to be able to closely follow the progress of the project and post further updates with photos showing progress and completion.

A huge thanks to everyone who donated funds to this project as well as to Village Water for running the project and carrying out the vital work of helping people in Africa gain access to clean water.
